COMMENT

Welcome to the latest British Safety Industry Federation (BSIF) newsletter, brought to you in association with Health & Safety Matters magazine.

It's been a busy year so far for the BSIF with the launch of the 'Clean Air? Take Care' campaign in conjunction with the HSE being a particular highlight. The initiative to help reduce occupational respiratory disease has got off to a strong start and the BSIF is consequently hopeful that it should have a real impact on reducing occupational respiratory disease in the UK. If you haven't yet applied for the free campaign resources, information on how to do so is available from the Clean Air? Take Care website www.cleanairtakecare.org.

In recent months the BSIF has also been busy recruiting a Chief Executive to drive the federation forward in line with its five year plan. Interviews have now taken place and the announcement of this appointment is expected by the end of the summer.

Looking forward to the autumn, plans for the BSIF's annual networking day and gala dinner which is taking place at Staverton Park hotel in Daventry on Monday 27th September are underway. Invitations and booking forms are available by emailing b.s.i.f@btconnect.com Early booking is recommended.
